Hectares of Vines
Tonnes of Grapes produced per year
Liebich Family Vineyards currently have over 230 hectares of vines, producing around 6000 Tonnes of grapes per year. The high quality red grape varieties are grown on hard limestone soils which has a reputation as being some of the best quality grapes in the Riverland.
The white grape varieties are planted on more deeper sand over limestone. With some variation in soil types Liebich Family Vineyards are able to be site specific when planting new varieties to allow the best possible growing conditions.
Liebich Family Vineyards use drip irrigation and soil moisture sensors to ensure the vineyard operates as efficiently and sustainably as possible, which enabled them to give up some of our water under the 3IP programme. We also have approximately 100Ha of native vegetation under Heritage agreements.
The varieties grown by Liebich Family Vineyards include: Durif, Cabernet, Shiraz, Mataro, Grenache, Gordo, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Colombard, Chardonnay, Semillon, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc.
